Carlton Betts, who went AWOL before his trial, lost control of a stolen car which mounted the pavement and killed Darren Whitehouse on St Mark's Road, Tipton, on February 27, 2021.

Jurors at Wolverhampton Crown Court were shown shocking footage of the high-powered Nissan Infiniti catapulting Mr Whitehouse, who had been chatting with a friend, into the air and shunted 50 metres down the road.
