Woman charged with GBH over violence outside Sedgley pub which left police officer in hospital

Police have charged a woman with causing grievous bodily harm to a police officer - and assaulting three more officers - after violence outside a pub in Sedgley.

Samantha Dalton, aged 37 and of Waterloo Road, Wolverhampton, was appearing at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today (April 25) for a first hearing.

She has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm against an officer, assault by beating three other officers, a racially aggravated public order offence and a further public order offence.

Ashley Johnson, aged 34 and Forge Leys in Wombourne has also been charged with obstructing an officer and criminal damage. He will appear at Dudley Magistrates Court on May 8 for a first hearing.

It follows an incident on Wednesday night (April 23) involving a group of people outside a pub on the Bull Ring, Sedgley

During the incident a police officer was taken to hospital with facial injuries. She has since been discharged.
