Traffic delays after crash outside Wednesbury Bus Station

A road was closed following a road traffic collision near Wednesbury Bus Station.

Road users were warned to leave extra time for travel following a crash near a bus station in Wednesbury

The crash happened at around 10.23am on Friday (April 25) and led to Dudley Street, adjacent to Wednesbury Bus Station, being shut towards the Dudley Road roundabout. 

Both lanes were closed following the crash, with heavy distruption being reported in the area.

West Midlands Roads said on X: "A461, Dudley Street (outside of bus station).

"Road traffic collision, road blocked towards Dudley Road roundabout. Plan ahead, leave extra time for your journey or consider alternative routes where possible."

Both lanes have since reopened, with normal traffic flow being reported in the area. 

The group added: "The disruption has now been cleared, and normal traffic flow has resumed in the area."

Transport for West Midlands also warned of disruption to regular travel due to the incident, warning that buses departing the station would experience delays. 

The group said: "Buses departing from Wednesbury Bus Station are currently experiencing delays due to an ongoing incident in the area. 

"Plan ahead: Allow extra time for your journey and consider alternative routes where possible."

Both lanes have since reopened and traffic flow is reported as 'normal'.
