Popworld Wolverhampton will close its doors after a final event on the May Bank Holiday weekend, marking the end of 12 years of the venue on North Street.
The club has been a popular part of the city's night scene, with long queues seen outside the venue, but is set to close after the closing party on May 4, before it is taken under new ownership and given a new name and look.
The new owner Shaun Keasey, who runs Gorgeous Night Club on School Street, said the new name would be Pop Zone and the venue will set to reopen on Friday, May 23.
He said: "Don't worry, Popworld will be back under a new name and we will be back with even better offers, but the same great music and the same decor.
"It will still be one big party for everyone to enjoy."
Popworld released a message on social media to announce the closure and to thank customers for the last 12 years.
The message read: "After over a decade of unforgettable nights, incredible memories, and being the home of party since 2013, it's time for us to say goodbye.
"Popworld Wolverhampton will be permanently closing its doors, with our final event taking place on Sunday, May 4.
"It's been an amazing journey, one filled with confetti, classic tunes, party anthems, and some of the best events Wolverhampton has ever seen.
"We’ve been proud to bring the Popworld party to life, and we can’t thank you, our loyal customers, enough for all the laughs, love, and legendary nights out.

"You made this place what it was, and we’ll miss every single one of you more than words can say.
"The venue will be continuing under new ownership and a brand new name, so we wish them all the best as they take the space forward into its next chapter.
"But before the curtain falls, we’re throwing one last massive party on May 4. Join us for one final night to sing, dance, and make one more memory together.
"Thank you, Wolverhampton, you've been the best."
The news of the closure has produced an outpouring of tributes from customers, with many speaking of their sadness at the impending closure and sharing their own memories of the place.
Nicholas Pranckevicius said he had been there as a DJ from the previous venue to when it became Popworld and said it was a unique place.
He said: "Was there as a DJ throughout Babylon and then the inception of Popworld.
"Many a memory was had with some great people and ain't no party like a Popworld party."

Matthew John said: "Going to miss this place and its sticky floors, and being told off for dancing on the seats, and vibing to the Vengaboys.
"At least we have the BOOM Bar Crawl Pub Gold Fancy Dress to look forward to on the last night. We will be an epic night."
Stu Ritchie said: "Sad times, great venue and great crowd, enjoyed DJing for you over the years.
"Best of luck to Phil, Matty and everyone else for the future."
Laura Paget said: "We've had some good nights in here over the years", while Niamh Cartwright said: "I think I'm actually going to cry" and Milly Germeney said: "Same. Our favourite place for a night out."
