The leader of Cannock Chase Council, Councillor Tony Johnson, has said that negotiations are taking place into a potential new lease of life for both the Museum of Cannock Chase and the Prince of Wales Theatre

Both venues were earmarked for closure as part of the council's budget proposal for 2025/26 in November last year, with a full council meeting in February being the last nail in the coffin for both locations.

The closures form part of the council's attempts to rectify a £1.3 million budget gap for the 2025/26 period.

Now, Cannock Chase Council has said that 'all hope may not be lost' as they hope to work with local groups who have shown interest in operating the venues.
