The petition has been set up by a group of a campaigners who want to see the track built at Chasewater Country Park in Burntwood.
The proposed facility would be designed for people of all ages to use bikes, roller skates or skateboards without pedalling.
Since it was set up earlier this month, the petition has attracted more than 700 signatures both online and on paper.
But campaigners Rachel Stackhouse and Sara Thompson are hoping to see a total of 2,500 people pen their names before the petition closes in June.
