Revealed: 20 West Midlands neighbourhoods ranked by number of reported violent and sexual offences, according to police figures

West Midlands Police figures, available via the official police website, have revealed the Black Country regions worst affected by violent and sexual crimes during the month of February 2025.

The Black Country areas of Wolverhampton, Dudley, Walsall and Sandwell are broken into individual local neighbourhood policing teams, each with the responsibility of recording various crimes that are reported by members of the public. 

Among the worst of these reported incidents are 'violent and sexual offences' - crimes that include assault, sexual assault and rape. 

In February 2025, across all 30 of the neighbourhood teams across each of the Black Country areas, 3,764 offences of a violent or sexual nature were reported to West Midlands Police.

To help show the ever-present risk of violent and sexual crime, we have compiled a comprehensive list of the 20 worst policing areas in the Black Country for reported crimes of a violent or sexual nature in descending order. 

Please note: The figures only include those crimes reported during the month of February 2025.

West Bromwich Town, Sandwell: During February 2025, the West Bromwich Town policing team received 315 reports of crimes of a violent or sexual nature, accounting for 8.37 per cent of the total 3,764 offences. 

Smethwick Town, Sandwell: Smethwick Town reported 214 offences of a violent or sexual nature in February, accounting for 5.69 per cent of the total figure. 

Oldbury Town, Sandwell: The Oldbury Town policing team reported 194 offences of a violent and sexual nature, accounting for 5.15 per cent of the 3,764 offences. 

Wednesfield and Heath Town, Wolverhampton: Wednesfield and Heath Town logged 182 offences of a violent and sexual nature, accounting for 4.84 per cent of the total figure. 

Rowley Town, Sandwell: The Rowley Town policing team logged 167 reports of violent and sexual offences, resulting in 4.44 per cent of the overall figure.

Tipton Town, Sandwell: Tipton Town received 160 reports of a violent and sexual offence, accounting for 4.25 per cent of 3,764 crimes. 

Dudley Central, Dudley: Dudley Central team reported 152 offences of a violent and sexual nature, accounting for 4.04 per cent of the total amount of crimes. 

Netherton, Quarry Bank and St Thomas, Dudley: The policing team here received 148 reports of violent and sexual offences, leading to 3.93 per cent of the total figure. 

Halesowen, Dudley: The Halesowen team received 147 reports of violent and sexual offences, accounting for 3.91 per cent of the overall crimes. 

Darlaston, Walsall: The Darlaston team in Walsall reported 141 crimes classified as violent and sexual, accounting for 3.75 per cent.

Bilston and East Park, Wolverhampton: Bilston and East Park received 138 reports of crimes of a violent and sexual nature, accounting for 3.67 per cent of the overall crimes. 

Wednesbury Town, Sandwell: Wednesbury Town had 136 reports of violent and sexual crimes in February, equalling 3.61 per cent. 

Dudley North, Dudley: Dudley North team had 133 reports of offences classified as 'violent and sexual', equalling 3.53 per cent overall. 

Willenhall, Walsall: Willenhall's team logged 132 crimes classified as violent and sexual, equating to 3.51 per cent of the total figure. 

Ettingshall, Blakenhall and Spring Vale, Wolverhampton: This area received 123 reports of a crime of violent or sexual nature, accounting for 3.27 per cent of the 3,764 offences. 

Fallings Park, Bushbury and Low Hill, Wolverhampton: Fallings Park and its neighbouring Bushbury and Low Hill accounted for 3.24 per cent of the total offences, reporting 122 crimes of a violent and sexual nature. 

St Peter's, Park and Graiseley, Wolverhampton: This is in Wolverhampton reported 122 offences of a violent and sexual nature, accounting for 3.24 per cent of the total figure. 

Leamore, Walsall: The Leamore team received 113 reports of violent and sexual offences, leading to 3.0 per cent of the overall total. 

Blakenall, Walsall: Blakenall also received 133 reports of crimes of a violent and sexual nature, also equalling 3.0 per cent of the total figure. 

Tettenhall, Penn, Merry Hill and Oxley: Lastly, the team here reported 107 crimes of a violent and sexual nature, accounting for 2.84 per cent of the total 3,764 figure across the whole area. 

Detective superintendent Ronan Tyrer, from West Midlands Police, said: "We're fully aware of the physical and emotional impact of both violent crime and sexual offences.

"These are some of the most terrifying and traumatic crimes we investigate, and it's why the men and women we convict of such offences receive lengthy custodial sentences.

"We know it can take a lot of courage to report offences and it's why we have specialist officers who are there to offer support throughout the whole process.
