The theft happened on Trimpley Drive between 4.30pm and 7pm on Monday (April 14).

West Mercia Police has urged anyone with information to come forward.

PC Kevin Walsh said: “Cable theft impacts negatively on businesses and inconveniences the public for very little criminal gain.

“Electrical charging is a relatively new technology and therefore this a new and emerging crime type which we are working to prevent. We are acting proactively to identify offenders.

“We would encourage anyone who may have witnessed the theft or who may have information about this type of crime to call 07811762123 or email kevin.walsh@westmercia.police.uk."

Information can also be shared anonymously by phoning Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Be.EV co-founder and CEO Asif Ghafoor spoke to the Express & Star last week about the rising issue of cable thefts following multiple incidents at the company's charging ports in the West Midlands.

He said the thefts had cost "millions" across the whole industry.
