Look: Stunning pictures of full moon as intrepid Wolverhampton climbers scale Snowdon's peak

Staff, trustees and young people at The Way Youth Zone in Wolverhampton certainly got their steps in over the last week - and the results were dramatic.

A team of 40 people including supporters of the organisation like the Gough Group, The Student Energy Group, and Blackrook Academy took on the Snowdon Sunrise Challenge on Saturday to walk to the summit of the famous mountain, taking the Pyg trail to the summit and the Llanberis path back down.

It included CEO Paul Snape, Director of Fundraising Lisa Carson, Head of Youth Work and Partnerships Rebecca Bunger,  senior youth worker Scott Broome. Photographer Tony Harnett was on Llynnau Mymbyr at the same time and took an incredible picture of the moon, which he put on social media and gave the Wolverhampton team permission to use when they asked him.

Tony wrote on his Facebook page: "If you were standing at the summit of Snowdon at 4:24 am this morning  then here's a photo I took of you from Llynnau Mymbyr with the full moon perfectly aligned behind you.

"Some shots demand more patience and persistence than others, this one has been years in the making  Finally, mission accomplished  the full moon setting behind Snowdon  after many failed attempts I'm incredibly proud of this one  I hope you like it as much as I do."

Two other shots taken from The Way Youth Zone group showed the famous mountain in all its stunning glory.

And Inspired by the adults, young people supported by the project took on their own challenge on the Youth Zone climbing wall.

In the days preceding the event the junior members (eight to twelve years old) climbed the height of Scafell Pike on Tuesday April 8  and the senior members (13-18) the height of Ben Nevis on the Wednesday , completing the organisation's own three peak challenge

Around £9,000 has already been raised for The Way from the intrepid climbers young and old and a JustGiving pages is still open for donations.
