Dudley shooting: Man arrested in Wolverhampton by armed officers

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a car was stopped in Wolverhampton, which had been linked to an earlier shooting in Dudley.

The car was spotted driving in the Wolverhampton area last night (April 14) was and quickly stopped by armed officers.

A 34-year-old man was then arrested on Great Hampton Street, Wolverhampton on suspicion of attempted murder. 

A search of the car was carried out and a live and viable firearm was seized. 

The arrest comes after a shooting in Dudley on April 6 after which a man presented at hospital with a suspected gunshot wound. He continues to recover from his injuries. 

The 34-year-old who was arrested is being questioned in connection with that shooting, and the police investigation is continuing.
