Clare's Law is a legal right that allows people to ask the police if their partner has a history of domestic violence or abuse.

Introduced in England and Wales in 2014, the law is designed to protect people from harm by helping them make informed decisions about their relationships. It is named after Clare Wood, who was tragically killed by a former partner with a known history of violence.

Under the law, police aim to respond to a request within 28 days.
