Chadney Ferguson fled after knifing his victim several times in Lahmber Way on May 9 last year.
The victim, aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital with a number of wounds which were thankfully not life-threatening.

Ferguson, of Park Lane East in Tipton, was arrested following police enquires and social media appeals.
The 28-year-old was also found to have threatened a woman while he was holding a brick in Walsall Road, Stone Cross the month before.
He was charged over both incidents and pleaded guilty to offences of wounding with intent, threats with a bladed article and threats with an offensive weapon.
He was jailed for seven years and seven months - with an extended licence period of three years - at Wolverhampton Crown Court on April 7.
Pc Benjamin Darlington, from Sandwell CID, said: “Ferguson showed extreme levels of violence which will not be tolerated on the streets of West Bromwich.
"This was traumatic for the victims and it's through their support we were able to secure these convictions. We hope this will bring some closure for them.
"We've managed to ensure a dangerous man has been taken off the streets and this sentence should reassure our communities that violence will lead to jail terms."
