On Rightmove, the group say that the property is a "substantial handsome building" within Dudley town centre and that the building consists of a large first-floor function room, with a bar and catering area.

The iconic property also features an open bar plan with a separate snug, with a seating capacity of around 115 customers.

As well as the pub, the listing also features an 'extensive' four-bedroom living accommodation on the second floor, with additional planning consent for seven bedsits/flats on the upper floors.

The Rightmove description of the property said: "The premises are of traditional 3-storey brick construction with pitched mansard and flat roofs and benefits from large attractive stone mullion leaded windows with a feature window above the main entrance.

"The pub includes lofty chimney stacks and dormer windows to the second floor."

Previous planning application

The landmark town centre pub was previously earmarked for renovation, with plans submitted to Dudley Council listing a reduction in the size of the trading floor, and the addition of manager's accommodation to the ground floor.

The application also included the construction of 12 new bedsits with redevelopment on the upper floor and the addition of laundry facilities in the cellar.

A statement to planners on behalf of Black Country Ales, who owned the property at the time of the application, said: "The proposal would keep the building in good order and the capital outlay would create a viable use of the building together with maintaining a good quality real ale public house.”
