Woman airlifted to hospital with 'life-threatening injuries' after being struck by a van near Sutton Coldfield as police cordon off golf club

A woman has been airlifted to hospital after being struck by a van as police have cordoned off a golf club near Little Aston.

The collision happened close to Blake Street, on the border of Little Aston and Sutton Coldfield, on Friday (April 10) morning.

Ambulance crews including an air ambulance were called to the scene at around 10.25am.

A police cordon is in place around the entrance of Aston Wood Golf Club in Blake Street with officers spotted at the scene.

An air ambulance was also pictured on the grounds of the golf club.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Upon arrival we found a woman who was the pedestrian with life-threatening injuries in a critical condition.

“Ambulance staff quickly began administering advanced life support and advanced trauma care to her at the scene which continued en route to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she was conveyed via air ambulance for further treatment.

“No further patients required treatment.”
