A discount of at least 12 per cent will be applied to tickets for journeys to the city hospital which are purchased using the MyMetro app.
The offer started on Thursday (April 10) and will run for a trial-period of two months, though West Midlands Metro said it hopes to make it more permanent if it proves popular.
It can be used for journeys to and from the hospital across the whole metro network and applies to services throughout the day from 4am.
The amount of money customers get off their ticket will however differ depending which one they buy.

Michael Reading-Skilton, Metro’s head of commercial, said: “We understand that hospital visits can be challenging for families, so we’re pleased to offer a little support through more affordable and stress-free travel options to help make life a little easier.
“Our Bull Street stop is just a short walk from the hospital in Steelhouse Lane and families and staff can also avoid the hassle and expense of finding a place to leave their car by taking advantage of over 700 park and ride spaces across the Metro network.”
To access the discount, patients and families will receive a QR code in the hospitals which can be scanned to generate an exclusive code for use on the MyMetro app.
Hospital staff can find the code through the hospital’s internal communications channels.
Mr Reading-Skilton added: "This latest offer is part of our ongoing commitment to working with local businesses and other organisations to promote sustainable travel in the West Midlands while supporting the communities we serve."
