In a post to X, formerly Twitter, at around 9.50am, it said: "Trindle Road. Traffic lights are reportedly stuck on red. This is causing congestion build-up around King Street and Castle Hill.

"Issue has been reported for repairs to be carried out. Allow extra time to travel or consider taking other routes."

A temporary multi-way traffic signal system is currently in place on Trindle Road due to ongoing roadworks.
