Officers teamed up with a Speedwatch group and took to to Mellish Road near to Walsall town centre this week where residents had complained of the speed of drivers.
A number of vehicles were seen travelling over the 30 mph limit.
The registered keepers of the vehicle registration plates will be sent letters, West Midlands Police said.

Elsewhere in Walsall this week, police in Willenhall have seized vehicles including a stolen van and motorbike.
They also seized a car involved in criminal activity and a quad bike which was being ridden in an anti-social manner and had no registration plate.
Officers have meanwhile been on patrol in Brownhills to prevent anti-social behaviour and in Pelsall and Walsall Wood following vehicle thefts.
Two schools in the borough also had a visit from police this week - including at Abbey Primary School in Bloxwich where they joined pupils for a litter pick.
