Cub in a hub! Firefighters save fox cub whose head got stuck in wheel alloy in Wolverhampton

Wolverhampton firefighters and the RSPCA came to the rescue when a baby fox got its head stuck in a wheel.

The curious cub was spotted in Whitmore Reans in a tight spot after it had put its head through the middle of a wheel alloy and could not get it back out. 

West Midlands Fire Service's Tettenhall crew found the fox in a fix and, with the help of the RSPCA and the Technical Rescue Unit, they carefully freed it.

It was then made safe by the crews, who praised the paw-sitive outcome. 

Facebook users have also commended the crews for saving the adorable cub. 

Lucy Tullo-Mckenzie said: "Thank you for helping the poor little fox!"

Tanya Ernest-Holloway had sympathy for the cub, commenting "poor little fella".
