Appeal for dashcam footage after man 'racially abused' days after being involved in Rugeley crash

Police are investigating after a man was involved in a crash in Rugeley and then verbally abused 12 days later.

The victim was in a collision along Wheelhouse Road at around 6pm on February 19. The suspect was driving a silver Vauxhall Insignia, Staffordshire Police said.

No one was reported hurt in the crash but a passenger in the victim's car was said by police to be left shaken.

On March 3, the victim was out shopping with family on Power Station Road, Rugeley, at about 4.30pm when he recognised the suspect.

Staffordshire Police said the suspect then "racially abused" the victim before driving off in the Insignia "at speed". 

A force spokesperson added: "Officers began an investigation and are issuing an appeal now in order to gather more evidence. 

"We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed either incident, or anyone who has dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage.
