Pooja Kanda to speak at Molineux event around youth violence

Pooja Kanda will be speaking at a major event which will discuss ways of reducing violence amongst young people.

Organised by the Violence Reduction Partnership in collaboration with the City of Wolverhampton Council and The Police and Crime Commissioner, Youth MP for Wolverhampton  Sienna Ahir is kicking the event at the Molineux off, with  PCC Simon Foster then addressing the meeting.

The event will engage approximately 500 young people over the two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon and  the conversations will continue in schools as part of the educational programme funded by the Violence Reduction Partnership, called Change Makers.

A highlight will be a talk by knife crime prevention campaigner Pooja Kanda. whose son Ronan was fatally stabbed in Wolverhampton in 2022.  Since then she has campaigned on 'Ronan's Law' which will see Ninja swords banned from August 1 and  require online retailers to report any bulk or suspicious-looking purchases of knives to the police.
