Raj Dhillon, 55, lent his victim Raja Ahmed £1,050 for a family funeral in December 2022 but after not getting the money back sent 1,000 messages threatening him and his family whilst upping the amount to be repaid to £25,000.

Dhillon told his victim he would "kidnap him," "torture him," "murder your mum and you" and "attack both of you with a claw hammer". A lot of the messages also included vile racist messages.

Then in June 2023 Dhillon, of Tettenhall Road, Wolverhampton, turned up at his address demanding the money and trying to force entry.

Dhillon pleaded guilty to blackmail on the first day of his trial in January at Wolverhampton Crown Court
