Staffordshire Police have said that they have found a Stanley knife on a teenage boy after responding to anti-social behaviour concerns in Burntwood.

Officers were called to the scene of Burntwood at around 8.45pm on Tuesday after receiving reports of a group of four boys acting in an anti-social manner and drinking alcohol.

Local officers spoke to the youths, who were said to be cooperative. Two of them were searched, leading to the discovery of a Stanley knife.

The knife was seized and the boy was cautioned and spoken to by the officers.

Police constable Joe Ball, of the Lichfield local policing team, said: "We’re out in the Lichfield area every single day responding to concerns from members of the public as proactively as possible.

“Removing the risk of knives and addressing anti-social behaviour is a key policing priority, both in Lichfield and across Staffordshire.

“It’s vital that local people continue to tell us about their concerns so we can act against those responsible for high-harm offences."
