Birmingham man charged in connection with child abduction

West Midlands Police has charged a man in connection with the abduction of a child in Winson Green.

Mohammed Abdulraziq was arrested after the child was discovered at an address on Sunday (March 30).

The 32-year-old, from Birmingham, has now been charged with kidnap with intent to commit a sexual offence, sexual assault and assault on someone else.

He was also charged with an unconnected assault, attempted assault and criminal damage from last month.

He was remanded to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court today (1 April).

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We've charged a man in connection with the abduction of a child in Winson Green. 

"Mohammed Abdulraziq was arrested after the child was discovered at an address last Sunday (30 March).

"The 32-year-old from Birmingham has now been charged with kidnap with intent to commit a sexual offence, sexual assault and assault on someone else.

"He was also charged with an unconnected assault, attempted assault and criminal damage from last month.

2He was remanded to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court today (1 April)."
