Eva Echo came out as a transgender woman back in 2016 - after already being married for four years.

Having read many stories online about how come out could end relationships, she bravely shared her and Pippa's love story publicly for the first time in 2019 to show that if it's truly meant to be, couples can get through it together.

And she has not stopped telling her story ever since.

The 44-year-old, from Birmingham, is now a highly respected activist, writer, and public speaker with a passionate focus on transgender rights and mental health and is well-known for her part in courageous legal action against NHS England in the High Court, challenging the unlawful waiting times for trans patients.

But today (March 31), she took a moment to share a powerful message to her followers - encouraging them to 'pave the way for inclusion' for transgender people on the Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV).

The annual awareness day honours and celebrates the transgender community by highlighting achievements, raising awareness of their challenges, and promoting acceptance. The day encourages both transgender individuals and allies to support and amplify transgender voices, advocating for equality and respect.

Speaking to her 12,000 followers on Instagram, Eva said: "Trans Day of Visibility is so important, especially right now when we are watching our rights being stripped away under the pretence of 'concern or safety'.

"But let's call it what it really is - a targeted cleansing of one of the most marginalised and vulnerable groups in the world. Gender nonconforming people have been around for centuries. There isn't a single country or civilisation where gender diversity hasn't existed.

"Yes, we're visible 365 days of the year, but we must make the most of an international day, like Trans Day of Visibility to spotlight us and push our messages beyond the echo chamber out there to where the people who need to hear the truth about us are.

"Those who need to realise we are not a threat. Allies. You are vital in this. Don't just digest our content. Share it. Make use of it to help pave the way for inclusion."

In the clip, which has gained almost 100 likes, Eva references how some people see transgender individuals as a threat because of fear, misinformation, or lack of understanding.

This can come from stereotypes, unfamiliarity with gender diversity, or negative cultural influences - when she argues that trans people just want to be accepted.

Many social media users have rallied around Eva to show their support. One user said: "Love and solidarity, always," while a second wrote: "This legend!!"
