Walsall has been the subject of more Section 60 orders than most town's in the Midlands. The Government backed order gives local police temporary extra powers including stopping and searching anyone suspected of being up to no good.

West Midlands Police have used Section 60 powers in January and March, both following stabbing incidents. The last one covered Walsall,  Willenhall, Darlaston, Bloxwich town centres and surrounding communities to include Caldmore, New Invention, Blakenall, Goscote, Delves, Pleck and part of Rushall.

Chief Constable Craig Guildford assured Walsall residents the force would continue to implement Section 60 powers if violent disorder incidents persist.
