West Midlands Police have arrested two teenagers and recovered a number of knives after stopping a group of youths who were acting suspiciously.
The arrest took place on Monday, March 24, and patrol officers from the force's Operation Guardian team spotted the group of teenagers on High Street, West Bromwich.
When officers approached them, the group disappeared, with two boys running towards Lyng Lane.
However, officers managed to catch up with the boys and they were detained.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "Nearby, we located a machete and a large knife.
"The boys, aged 15 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon. Following a search of a linked address, a second machete was found."
Both boys have been bailed with strict conditions while enquiries continue.
The arrest formed part of the force's Operation Guardian, which is a specialist taskforce which tackles knife crime and youth violence.
