Byron Sellick, 20, told a jury at Wolverhampton Crown Court he was in the car during the drive-by shooting of Connor Brookes on July 8 last year.
However, giving evidence in his defence he blamed co-defendant Julian Falconer, 20, for firing the fatal shot.
Falconer's lawyer Martin McCarthy KC cross examined Sellick and accused him of being "obsessed with guns" claiming he surfed the internet looking for weapons before and after the shooting.
Sellick angrily responded to Mr McCarthy, saying: "I was just looking at he internet like everyone does. I am not obsessed by guns. If I see something mad on a site like TikTok or something I show a friend.
