Police investigating early morning crash in Wolverhampton after pedestrian is injured
A car left the road coming off an island in Wolverhampton city centre and hit a kerb.

Police are investigating after a pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries after an early morning accident in Wolverhampton city centre.
The accident happened at 7.25am this morning (Friday) just off the Penn Road island at the junction of the A4150 and Worcester Street, close to The Way Youth Zone and heading towards St John's Church. It caused heavy traffic for Friday morning
A police statement said: "A man in his 60s was hit by a car which then collided with street furniture.
"He was taken to hospital and remains in a stable condition.
"The driver remained at the scene and assisted with enquiries.
"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to get in touch via Live Chat on our website or by calling 101 quoting log 776 21 March.
A statement from West Midlands Ambulance said: "We were called to reports of an accident involving a car and a pedestrian at the junction of the A4150 and Worcester Street at 7.24am.
"We sent an ambulance, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor and a critical care paramedic to the scene.
"On arrival crews found a man, the pedestrian, who they treated for serious injuries before conveying him to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment.”
Part of the ring road was closed off for recovery and investigation work but has now been re-opened and there are no delays.
