Walsall murder: Police remain at scene as investigation into fatal stabbing continues

Police remain at the scene of a stabbing in Walsall days after the tragic death of a 22-year-old man.

A cordon remains around a residential address on Bloxwich Road, Walsall, following the horrific stabbing murder of a 22-year-old man on Monday afternoon. 

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the address, which sits on the junction of Norfolk Place, at around 5pm, to reports of a knife attack

A 22-year-old man was taken to hospital following the incident, however, he sadly died just before midnight on the same day. A 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday.

Police remain at the scene of the crime, with a cordon remaining in place while investigators continue to enquire into the tragic events. 

Simone Lint, 31, a local parent who dropped her child off to school, said: "It's horrible, I've walked my daughter past here twice now and she keeps on asking what happened. 

"How are you supposed to explain this to them, she'd be terrified to leave the house. It's horrible."

A police probe continues into the murder, with detectives continuing to enquire into the circumstances surrounding the tragic events. 

In a statement, released yesterday, detective inspector Joe Davenport, who is leading the investigation said: "We’re at a very early stage of the investigation and are working hard to understand what has happened and why.

“I’d urge anyone with information, CCTV, dashcam, doorbell or other footage from the area at the time to get in touch with us as soon as possible."
