Deng Chol Majek, 19, appeared briefly at Coventry Crown Court for what was expected to be a five-day murder trial. 

Majek, formerly of Bescot Crescent in Walsall, has previously appeared at court hearings by video link.

Majek is accused of murdering the 27-year-old hotel worker, who died in hospital three days after being injured at Bescot Stadium Railway Station, on October 20 last year.
