New aerial drone footage taken by Express & Star chief photographer Tim Thursfield shows construction progressing well at the new £32m super tip in Aldridge which council bosses say is due to open in summer this year.

The super-tip, officially named the Household Waste Recycling Centre and Waste Transfer Station, is set to replace the current Waste Recycling Centre at Merchants Way, Aldridge. The Merchants Way site will remain open until the new facility is ready.

Construction started on the new facility in August last year
A reuse shop will provide staff with space to refurbish items that would otherwise have been thrown away. The items, all in good and safe condition, will then be sold at a low cost.
The project coincides with improvement works at the Household Waste and Recycling Centre at Fryers Road in Bloxwich.
