Hednesford meeting planned to discuss future of venues

Cannock Chase MP Josh Newbury will be hosting a public meeting tonight  (Friday)  to discuss the future of two landmark venues in his constituency.

The meeting concerns the future of the Prince of Wales Theatre in Cannock and the Museum of Cannock Chase, both of which could close at the end of April.

A full council meeting in February set a draft budget which would see funding for the two venues effectively end, with closure set for next month.

A charitable group called Cannock Chase Theatre Trust  representing the Prince of Wales campaign has  been set up to try and secure its future and members will be present tonight at The Aquarius Ballroom, Hednesford from 6pm

Green Party Cannock Chase councillor Andrea Muckley, who is fighting to save the Museum of Cannock Chase, will also be present.
