Fire crews tackle blaze at factory on top of Dudley hill

Fire crews from across the Black Country have been tackling a blaze at a factory, with smoke visible from around the surrounding area.

The fire at a factory on Mons Hill in Dudley is believed to have started at around 6.30am and saw fire crews from six stations called to tackle it.

The crews used seven pumps to tackle the fire, which saw a large and vivid smoke cloud appear over the skies above Dudley.

The cause is not yet known.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "We were called to reports of a fire at a factory on Mons Hill in Dudley at around 6.30am.

"Fire crews from Dudley, Tipton, Brierley Hill, West Bromwich, Wolverhampton and Bilston were called to the scene, with seven pumps being used to tackle the fire."
