Boy, 15, charged after live ammunition, firearm and drugs recovered in Birmingham

A teenager has been charged after police recovered drugs and a firearm from an address in Erdington.

The 15-year-old, who can’t be named due to his age, was stopped and searched by Operation Fearless officers near Erdington High Street on Tuesday. 

Cannabis and cash were found during the search and the boy was arrested.

Following his arrest, officers carried out a search at an address in Erdington where they found live ammunition, a firearm, and suspected Class A drugs.

He now been charged with possessing a firearm and ammunition, possession with intent to supply Class B drugs, and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

He was remanded into custody to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court at a later date.
