Police investigate shooting in Birmingham as man suffers 'life changing' injuries

Police are investigating after a man was shot in Birmingham last night (Tuesday).

They were called to Lea Hall Road in Sheldon in Birmingham just after 10.20pm after reports that shots had been fired.

A short time later, a man arrived at a hospital in the city with gunshot wounds.

He remains there today in a serious condition with injuries which are described as life-changing.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We are working hard to establish exactly what happened and who was responsible, and are carrying out CCTV and other enquiries.

"We’ll be carrying out reassurance patrols in the area, and we’d urge anyone with concerns to speak to officers."
