Josef Balaz, of Colefield Lane, Walsall, was arrested in January, 2021 and quizzed about running a prostitute ring involving vulnerable young women in their late teens and early 20s.

Detectives believed Balaz's organised his pimping through online bookings detailed on his mobile phone. However,  when asked for his Apple security code he claimed he had forgotten it.

He then gave part of his date of birth but still West Midlands Police technology specialist could not crack the code to access the evidence. The police then used Section 49 of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 to get a judge to demand Balaz to reveal the security code.
