A man is due to appear in Birmingham Magistrates Court today charged with attempted murder after a 15-year-old boy was stabbed in Birmingham

Idris Urfan, aged 21, from Birmingham, has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a knife following an incident where a 15-year-old boy was stabbed in Birmingham. 

The arrest comes after a teenager was attacked in Alum Rock Road, near College Road, just after 8.45pm on March 7.

Officers believe the 15-year-old was attacked near the Morris Park area, with emergency services finding the boy with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. The boy remains in hospital today.

Urfan was remanded into custody and is due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court today.

West Midlands Police have also said that two more boys, a 16 and 17-year-old, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, with both remaining in custody for questioning.
