Man's body pulled from water in Stafford

A man in his 70s has been found dead in Stafford.

Emergency services teams were called to the scene of Falmouth Avenue, Stafford, at around 8.50am on Sunday following reports of a body in water near the road.

Officers attended the scene alongside West Midlands Ambulance Service colleagues and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service. 

Sadly, a man in his 70s was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene a short time later.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: "We do not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances.

"His next of kin have been informed and a file will shortly be prepared for HM Coroner."
