The five were approached on Market Street at around 4.40pm on Sunday, February 23, by a group of eight or nine other teenagers.

The victims reported seeing a knife in the waistband of one of the teens' trousers.

A 15-year-old boy had his phone, watch, bank card, coat and electric scooter stolen and was punched in the face. He did not require hospital treatment.

Three other boys, aged 14, also had their phones stolen.

A 13-year-old boy, from the Walsall area, has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and released on conditional bail while police enquiries continue.

Staffordshire Police had been investigating a number of recent incidents where young people have been targeted by thieves in the Cannock area.

Officers from the Cannock local policing team (LPT) and teachers from the area were due to patrol antisocial behaviour hotspots on Friday night (March 7) to help reassure members of the community and answer any questions they may have.
