West Midlands Police announced it would be using Section 60 powers across Walsall on Monday (March 3) evening.
The powers were in place until 8am on Tuesday.
A force spokesperson said: "We're using Section 60 powers across Walsall until 8am tomorrow morning (March 4). It follows concerns over planned disorder.

"These powers allow us to stop and search people without the need to have reasonable grounds.
"As always, our main focus is on keeping everyone safe."
