There are plenty of pubs which promote themselves as having big burgers, juicy steaks and chunky chips, but can fall down on presentation, taste or the service provided.
I’ve encountered plenty of places where I’ve left with a full stomach, but an empty feeling due to the food being poor, the service lacking and without getting any feeling of comfort from the pub.
One pub which is working to provide a great experience for all those who pass through its doors is the Gosta Green, which sits on the edge of Birmingham city centre right in the middle of student land, being near Aston University and Birmingham City University.

It’s been a part of the pub landscape in the city for years and has been a popular destination for students and people seeking a cheaper pint.
Now, after a major refurbishment by Stonegate, the pub has revamped its food menu to make it wide-ranging and full of a mixture of pub classics, tasty sides, big pizzas and a lot more besides.

It’s not a hard building to find as when you turn the corner onto Holt Street, you’re faced with a very large brick building with the name of the pub lit up, possibly for celestial navigation or just to really help people find it.
It looks big on the outside, but you’re not prepared for the amount of space inside as the area opens up into a range of tables and booths, a dining area at the top and seating with a DJ area.
