Arson investigation launched after fire engulfs former chicken shop in Tipton
A former chicken shop was engulfed in fire last night (Saturday, March 1) in Tipton in a possible arson attack.

The West Midlands Fire Service was called at 7.42pm to the blaze at the former Kings Chicken Shop, North Road.
A fire service spokesman said: "The call came in at 7.42pm. Two fire crews attended the incident."

"There were no casualties concerning this incident."
However, the fire service did contact West Midlands Police due to suspicion of arson.
The spokesman added: "We requested police to attend because of arson. Police were made aware of it and they attended after we left."
West Midlands Police confirmed arson is being investigated as the likely cause.
A spokesman said: "The fire service contacted us shortly before 8pm last night following a fire at a vacant shop premises on North Road, Tipton.
"The cause of the fire is suspected to be arson. We are investigating and anyone with any information should contact us via Live Chat on our website.
"Alternatively, call 101 quoting log number 4236 of March 2."
A social media post on the Spotted: Tipton Facebook page warned residents to avoid the area.
The post said: "Avoid north road shops. Someone has burned down the old chicken shop."
