Police issue update after shooting near fish shop in Walsall

Enquiries into a shooting incident which saw a road on the Walsall and West Bromwich border sealed off are still continuing a week after the incident.

West Midlands Police have confirmed that the enquiries are still ongoing into the incident on Redwood Road in Yew Tree, which happened at 8.40pm on Wednesday, February 19.

Shots were reportedly fired at Regal Fish Bar and saw a window smashed, but no one seriously hurt, and left the road closed off by police for nearly a full day while investigations continued.

A force spokesman said at the time: "We are in the early stages of our investigation but it is believed several people were in the area at the time. 

"We are appealing for witnesses or people with information including dashcam footage to please contact us via Live Chat on our website or by calling 101 quoting log number 4756 of February 19.

It has since been confirmed by West Midlands Police that there has been no progress in the investigation, with a spokeswoman saying: "No arrests have yet been made. Our enquires are ongoing."
