Around 15 firefighters went to the three-storey terrace off The Close after reports of a fire on the ground floor shortly before 6.15am on Tuesday. The incident happened in Vicars Close near Lichfield Cathedral School.

In a post on social media platform X Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service stated: "Lichfield fire. Crews from Aldridge, Tamworth and Mercia attended a house fire in the Lichfield area - the incident involved fire on ground & 1st floor of a 3 - storey terraced house. All persons are accounted for."
