Emergency services rushed to the scene of Wellington Road, Dudley at around 7pm on Saturday, February 22, to reports of a fire affecting a disused three-storey building on the road.
Following an initial investigation, West Midlands Fire Service has now said that it believes the fire was 'started deliberately'.
Investigations are ongoing.

A West Midlands Fire Service spokesperson said: "Initially, three fire engines, a hydraulic aerial platform and a 4x4 brigade response vehicle responded, crewed by firefighters from Dudley, Brierley Hill, Tipton and Oldbury stations.
"The first crew reached the scene within three minutes of being mobilised.
"This was a fire in a derelict three-storey building. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire, which is believed to have been started deliberately.

"There were no casualties discovered at this incident after extensive searches.
"We scaled down our resources before the final crew of firefighters left the scene at around 1am. We revisited twice throughout the night to check for hotspots, but none were found."
Residents were urged to keep their windows and doors shut, with pictures from the scene showing the scorched exterior of the building and blackened windows.
