Emergency works to repair gas leak on Halesowen road begin - motorists warned to expect disruption

Motorists on a busy major road near Halesowen have been warned to expect a week of disruption due to emergency roadworks.

Dudley Council has announced that there is expected to be significant disruption on the A458 Stourbridge Road in Halesowen due to emergency work to repair a gas leak, as well as an unconnected electrical cable fault. Work began on Monday afternoon (February 24).

The council said that temporary lights were operation, running with manual control between 7am and 7pm, and the work was expected to run until Friday.

A spokesman for Dudley Council said: "Significant disruption expected on Stourbridge Road in Halesowen due to emergency work to repair a gas leak and unconnected electrical cable fault work. 

"Temporary lights are operational, manually controlled 7am to 7pm. 

"Work for both is anticipated to finish on February 28."
