Police investigate after shots reportedly fired at Walsall takeaway

Police are investigating after shots were reportedly fired at a takeaway business in Walsall.

The incident happened in Redwood Road on the Walsall/Sandwell border shortly before 8.40pm on Wednesday (February 19).

A window was smashed but no one is reported to have been seriously hurt, a West Midlands Police spokesman said.

The force said it is working to established what happened and who was involved.

West Midlands Police said it has officers in the area on Thursday to offer reassurance to the community.

A force spokesman added: "We are in the early stages of our investigation but it is believed several people were in the area at the time. 

"We are appealing for witnesses or people with information including dashcam footage to please contact us via Live Chat on our website or by calling 101 quoting log number 4756 of February 19. 

"Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111."
