Why should this be good news? Because when there's 5,000 of us disconnected, it means it's a big fault and BT will crack on with fixing it. When your line is the only one that's down, you're stuffed.

No surprises in reports that 700 British doctors have been enjoying the skiing - sorry, that should read “attending a vital medical conference” - in the French Alps resort of Val d'Isere. One NHS spokesman says the event was “an opportunity for clinicians to share best practice.” Well, maybe it was. But isn't it strange that when it comes to planning these conferences, they never go to Clacton?
