Lee MacDivitt, of Prince Charles Road, Wolverhampton, has been locked up for his involvement in more than 25 shop thefts, which saw goods worth around £2,000 being taken from the shelves in Bilston

The 36-year-old's stealing spree took place between November 1 and December 6, 2024, and saw him target stores multiple times on the same day to take food and household items.

Appearing at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Tuesday, February 11, MacDivitt was sentenced to 12 months in jail.

He had previously admitted 27 charges, as well as stealing cash and bank cards from a property in Dudley and assaulting a police officer after he rode a bicycle at them in Bilson.

The court also made him the subject of a criminal behaviour order, which bans him from areas of Bilston for two years.

PC Rhys Francis, from the Bilston Neighbourhood  Policing Team, said: "We understand how thefts from our shops and stores impact our communities and the traders who serve them.

"Officers from across our neighbourhood have worked together to ensure this prolific offender has faced justice and we have now seen him locked up and off the streets."
