West Midlands Police have introduced the dispersal orders following repeated reports of anti-social behaviour in the Sutton Coldfield town centre.

The powers allow police to move on people they believe are contributing to anti-social behaviour or crime.

The powers are set to stay in place for 48 hours, with the effect set to end on Sunday afternoon.

Sergeant Charlotte Price, from Sutton Neighbourhood Team, said: "We won’t tolerate this kind of behaviour and we have put the Section 35 dispersal in place to move anyone on who we believe may be causing problems.

"This dispersal order will be in place over the weekend until Sunday afternoon. We will have extra officers in the area over the weekend to offer reassurance."

Anyone who has witnessed anti-social behaviour in the area can get in touch with West Midlands Police via the Live Chat service on their website, or alternatively by calling 101, quoting reference number 2069 of February 14.
